Frederick Man Acquitted Of Murder Charges In Fatal Stabbing Last Year

But he was found  guilty of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Frederick, Md (KM) A Frederick man who was charged with the stabbing death of another man last year at a hookah lounge was found guilty of one offense, but acquitted of the other three. According to official records, Derell Len Prue, 33, was convicted of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, but found not guilty of 1st-degree murder, conspiracy to commit 1st-degree murder and use of a firearm in a violent crime.

The jury’s verdict was announced on Monday following over two hours of deliberations. This follows a nearly two-week trial.

Prue was on trial for the stabbing of Romario Tevin Anderson, 28, at the hookah lounge Exhale in downtown Frederick in March, 2023.
