Baby Kidnapped From Frederick Found In Mount Airy

Frederick, Md (KM) An infant child was safely rescued following a vehicle theft on Thursday night in Frederick.

Police say at around 9:20 PM, they responded to the theft in the 1700 block of Harvest Drive. Authorities say the baby was asleep in the back seat of a Hyundai Elantra when the child’s mother went inside her home to retrieve an item. When she returned, the vehicle was gone.

Frederick Police provided a description of the vehicle, while the victim use the “Find My i-Phone” app to keep track of the Hyundai. A Frederick County Sheriff’s Deputy and the Maryland State Police located the vehicle at around 9:39 PM at 502 East Ridgeville Boulevard in Mount Airy   The suspect identified Jeremy Francis Rineman, 45, of Mechanicsville, Pennsylvania was taken into custody.

The infant was transported to Frederick Health Hospital as precautionary measure. The child had no injuries, police say..

Rineman is charged with kidnapping of a child and motor vehicle theft. He’s currently being held without bond at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
