Hampstead Man Charged With Child Pornography Offenses

He is being held without bond at the Carroll County Detention Center.

Hampstead, Md (KM) A Hampstead man is charged with ten counts each of possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says Adam Bromwell Piet, 32, was arrested on Tuesday, September 24th. He was transported to the Carroll County Detention Center where he’s being held without bond.

Authorities say in July, 2024, the Carroll County Advocacy and Investigation Unit began an investigation of child pornography on line, and later uncovered evidence of distribution.

On Thursday, September 19th at 5:30 AM, a search warrant was served at the suspect’s home where electronic devices were seized. They later underwent forensic analysis.

The Sheriff’s Office says the Carroll County Advocacy and Investigation Unit works with the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. . This is a combined law enforcement effort which involves police departments across Maryland. It’s made possible by a grant from the Governor’s Office on Crime Prevention, Youth and Victim Services as well as a grant fromĀ  the US Department of Justice. The Task ForceĀ  focuses on identifying those involved in child pornography through the Internet and other related crimes where children are the victims.
