Suspect taken into custody in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

(September 30, 2024) – On Saturday, September 28th at 6:20 pm, Fort LauderdalePolice and The Federal Bureau of Investigations in partnership with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Officearrested David Phillip Turner, 33, of Miami, FL after an arrest warrant was issued for the August 25, 2024,murders of Crimea Malita Baker and Sean Antoine Lange.“Sheriff’s Office detectives have worked tirelessly, seven days a week for over a month with the help ofmultiple law enforcement agencies to identify the person responsible for these shocking murders. Thisinvestigation has been a priority of this office since the morning of the shootings. In anxiously waiting forclosure and the arrest of the person responsible, the public has been extremely patient and can now becompletely confident that this was a targeted domestic-related murder. I extend my thanks to the LakeLinganore Community for their assistance in the investigation and their patience while we worked toapprehend the murderer. The Sheriff’s Office will continue to ensure the safety of FrederickCounty,” Sheriff Chuck Jenkins.On Sunday, August 25th, at approximately 7:00 AM, Frederick County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to aresidence in the 7000 Block of Mandalong Ct. in New Market. The call was reported as a shooting. Uponresponding, deputies found the deceased victims, later identified as Baker and Lange, shot multiple timesin an upstairs bedroom. A Preliminary investigation indicated the victims were shot at approximately 1:25a.m. Four children, who were also found inside the home, were unharmed.Detectives believe the victims were living together at the time of their murders. Baker is the mother of allfour children found inside the home. Lange is the father of one of the children.Turner is charged with two counts of 1st degree murder, Home Invasion, and two counts of use of afirearm in a crime of violence or felony. He is currently being held at the Broward County Sheriff’s OfficeJail in Florida awaiting extradition back to Maryland.The Miami Beach Police Department, Miami-Dade Police Department, and Broward County Sheriff’sOffice also assisted in this case.This incident is still an ongoing investigation and if anyone has information, contact Detective Reese at301-600-3640.
