An unconscious person was removed from a mobile home.
Myersville, Md (KM) A fatal house fire in Myersville Saturday night is under investigation.
Frederick County Fire and Rescue Services says at around 9:12 PM, fire fighters were dispatched to the 11000 block of Highland School Road for a house on fire. Upon arrival, they found extensive fire at a mobile home. They were also told that the house might be occupied and proceeded to put out the fire, and search for any occupants. A Rapid Intervention Dispatch brought additional personnel to the scene.
Fire fighters located an unconscious person inside the home.. That person was removed, and turned over to Emergency Medical Services personnel for medical care. . But the occupant was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say about 35 fire fighters with assistance from Washington County were able to bring the flames under control within 20-minutes. . There were no other injuries and there was no damage to nearby structures
The identity of the deceased individual is being handled by the Sheriff’s Office. At this time, authorities say that person’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office. The damage is estimated at $100,000.
