A report in the News Post says the medical information of some Frederick County Public School students was affected by the breach, .including “medical alerts.”Officials with Frederick County Public Schools remind parents it stopped collecting Social Security numbers from students more than ten years ago..This data breach involved a student information system administered by PowerSchool, which provide similar services to other school districts around the country.   The data software company says the data breach occurred between December 19th and December 28th, 2024.. PowerSchool says it learned about the breach on January 7th; the next day, it found out that the breach affected Frederick County.The School System says the breached data is no longer accessible.PowerSchool says it has asked the FBI and the cybersecurity company called CrowdStrike to investigate.By Kevin McManus
