Frederick, Md (KM) There were a few tense moments at Frederick Municipal Airport on Thursday.
Just before 12:15 PM, fire and rescue crews were called to the airport for an approaching airplane with one landing gear which would not extend. The Frederick Scanner Facebook page says the plane’s occupants were attempting to manually lower the landing gear. The airplane also had 60 gallons of fuel on board.
The airplane landed safely, but the front landing gear collapsed. Fire officials say there was no fuel spill, and the two occupants on board were not injured.
Most fire and rescue units began clearing the scene just after 12:30 PM.
