Man Arrested and Charged With Murder in Washington County

32-year-old Taylor Andrew Rowles, has been charged with 1 count of First-Degree Murder and other charges.

Hagerstown, MD –On Friday, May 16th, 2025, at approximately 8:30 AM, deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the unit block of North Mill Street, Clear Spring, MD, for a death investigation.

On scene, deputies located a deceased female, later identified as 30-year-old Paige Grove. It was quickly determined that the death was the result of a homicide according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Facebook Page.
At 9:12 AM, a suspect was apprehended in the Clear Spring area. The suspect, 32-year-old Taylor Andrew Rowles, has been charged with 1 count of First-Degree Murder, 1 count of Second-degree murder, 1 count of First-Degree Assault, and 1 count of Second-Degree Assault.
Rowles is currently being held without bond at the Washington County Detention Center. All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone in the Clear Spring area who has surveillance footage of a suspicious male walking through town between May 15, 2025, at 3:40 PM and May 16, 2025, at 9:00 AM, contact Det SGT Glines at 240-313-2886 or by email at [email protected].
