The Frederick Department of Housing and Human Services Is Participating In The Summer Food Service Program

Children who are out of school can get free meals through August 18th.

Frederick, Md (KM) School may be out, but there are places where children can get free lunch during the weekdays in the Summer.  The Frederick City Department of Housing and Human Services says it’s participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Lunch will be provided free of charge to children up to age 18 Monday through Friday until August 19th. The only exception is July 4th.

The City says it’s open to kids regardless of race, color,  national original, sex, age or disability.  It  says there will be no discrimination in the course of meal service.

Free meals will be available at five locations around Frederick as well as one location each in Walkersville and Brunswick. They are:

*Hill Street Park Pavilion, Hill Street, 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.

*College Estates Park, Taney Avenue, 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM

*Carrollton Park, Center Street, 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM

*WIndsor Garden Apartments, Key Parkway, 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM

*Amber Meadows Playground Pavilion, Amber Drive, 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM

Brunswick

Brunswick Library, North Maple Avenue, 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM.

Walkersville

Discovery Community Center, North Maple Avenue, 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM.
