He was released on personal recognizance.
Frederick, Md (KM) An arrest has been made in an abduction in Frederick County earlier this week. Devon Marshall Fyke, 32, of Charles Town, West Virginia is charged with 2nd-degree assault, false imprisonment, theft between $100 and $1500 and malicious destruction of property less than $1000.
At around 11:00 PM on Monday, June 16th, the Sheriff’s Office says it received a call about an abduction of a woman along New Design Road by her boyfriend. The victim’s sister says she was attempting to follow the vehicle with the boyfriend and the victim.
Authorities say Fyke began driving erratically to scare the victim. She tried to get out of the vehicle, but was restrained. The driver also took the victim’s cell phone and threw it out the window.
She was let off at Buckeystown Pike and English Muffin Way. The victim was able to borrow someone else’s phone and call for help. . Deputies located her, and she was taken to the hospital.
Fyke was foundĀ at the Sheetz store in Brunswick and taken into custody. The Sheriff’s Office says Fyke is wanted on an active warrant in an unrelated incident.
Fyke has been released on personal recognizance.
