There will be a charge for some services at the Landfill.
Frederick, Md (KM) Some infrastructure changes are coming to the Frederick County Division of Solid Waste and Recycling.
Director Lee Zimmerman says starting July 1st, a $10-fee will be charged for all transactions at the landfill, including the Citizens Convenience Center. After that rate is paid, the posted tipping fee will be assessed per 20 pounds. He says all transactions at the scale houseĀ will follow this new pricing structure, whether the customer pays by cash, check or card.
Also, residential and commercial customers will be paying a $25-per-ton fee to drop off yard waste, Customers who live in Frederick County are allowed to bring up to five, 30-gallon paper yard waste bags to the recycling center per day.
County residents can also drop off dry, non-moldy textiles at no cost during the landfill’s regular hours. This includes shirts, paints, shorts, undergarments and bedding.
Lithium-ion batteries of any size and quantity can be dropped of at the recycling center at no cost. Batteries within items such as laptops will be considered electronic recycling.
