No Bond For Walkersville Man Charged With Murdering His Mother-In-Law

He will have a preliminary hearing next month.

Frederick, Md (KM) A Walkersville man charged with the murder of his mother-in-law and assaulting his wife is being held without bond. Pavel Obambe, 35, was arrested on Tuesday for the slaying of Christine Liboula, 68, also of Walkersville. . Her body was found on Sunday morning at a home in the 8400 block of Foresight Lane.

The Medical Examiner’s Office ruled her death a homicide. It also said Liboula’s death was consistent with strangulation and blunt force trauma.

Obambe is charged with 1st-degree murder, 2nd-degree murder, 2nd-degree assault and false imprisonment.

A preliminary hearing for Obambe is scheduled for Thursday, July 24th, 2025.
