Hagerstown, Md (KM) A suspect has been charged in connection with a shots-fired incident early Sunday morning in Hagerstown. Charles Anthony Rodgers, 38, of Hagerstown, was arrested shortly after the incident, and charged with attempted 2nd-degree murder, 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, reckless endangerment, having a handgun on his person, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime and knowingly altering a firearm ID number. .
He’s currently jailed at the Washington County Detention Center on a no-bond status.
At around 2:30 AM on Sunday, Hagerstown Police say officers responded to the 200 block of West Franklin Street for a shots-fired incident., Through the use of surveillance cameras, they were able to identify and locate Rodgers and take him into custody.
Detectives and officers obtained a search and seizure warrant on Rodger’s apartment, where they found a Smith and Wesson handgun with ammunition.
Investigators say Rodgers and the victim got into an argument. They say Rodgers aimed his gun at the victim, and fired several timers. But, fortunately, the victim was not struck.
