The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says he assaulted two deputies when he was bring arrested.

Emmitsburg, Md (KM) An Emmitsburg man was arrested on Tuesday tor making a threat of mass violence at a children’s camp. Benjamin Dewees, 28, is charged making a threat of mass violence, two counts of 2nd-degree assault, disturbing the peace/disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace/loud noise, attempting to disturb school operations and disorderly conduct..
Dewees is being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center without bond.
The Sheriff’s Office says at around 10:11 AM, deputies responded to Emmitsburg for a threat of mass violence at the local elementary school where a children’s camp was taking place. The kids were brought inside the school building which was placed on lockdown.
Deputies encountered Dewees on West Main Street. While trying to take him into custody, authorities say Dewees assaulted two deputies. One went to an area hospital to be treated for injuries, and was released. The other deputy was not hurt.
Dewees was eventually taken into custody.
