Germantown Man Arrested For Hitting Pedestrian In Leesburg

Frederick, Md. (DG) – Leesburg Police say a pedestrian is recovering after being struck in a hit-and-run crash late Friday evening.

The incident happened September 12 around 7:50 p.m. at the intersection of East Market Street and King Street. Investigators say a man driving a dark-colored SUV hit a pedestrian who was in the crosswalk, then left the scene without stopping.

Officers quickly identified the suspect as 58-year-old Todd Stevens of Germantown, Maryland. With assistance from Montgomery County Police, Stevens was arrested at his home and is now being held in Montgomery County, awaiting extradition to Virginia.

He faces charges of hit-and-run causing injury and failure to yield to a pedestrian. The victim’s injuries were reported as minor. Police are urging anyone with additional details about the crash to contact them at 703-771-4500.
