The Sheriff’s Office says it was an ongoing investigation into illegal possession of firearms.

Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says two teenagers were arrested on Monday in the Jefferson Place neighborhood on firearms and drug offenses.
The SWAT Team served a search warrant at a home and associated vehicles in the 5900 block of Jefferson Commons Way. Detectives located and seized a rifle, a handgun, numerous magazines, ammunition, cannabis, cash and other items. Benjamin Daniel Orellana Wallemath, 18, was taken into custody;. He is charged with:
*(2 counts) Illegal possession of a regulated firearm
*(2 counts) Possession of a firearm by a minor
*Handgun in vehicle
*Loaded handgun in vehicle
*Possession of firearm without serial number
*Illegal possession of ammunition
*Deadly weapon on school property
*Possession with intent to distribute – cannabis
Authorities say their investigation determined Orellana Wallemath possessed a firearm at Frederick High School in October, 2025.
At about the same time, the Frederick Police Special Response Team served a search warrant at a home and associated vehicles in the 6100 block of Jefferson Pike. Once inside, detectives conducted a search and confiscated a handgun with an obliterated serial number, ammunition and other items.
Julius Carter Benjamin, 16, is charged as an adult with:
*Possession of a firearm by a minor
*Alter firearm identification number
*Conspiracy: possession with intent to distribute – cannabis
Both suspects were taken to the Adult Detention Center.
The Sheriff’s Office says these operations were part of an ongoing investigation into the illegal possession of firearms.
