Gaithersburg, MD (JK) – Montgomery County accident investigators are looking into a fatal collision that occurred Sunday, resulting in the death of 39-year-old Jorge Estuardo Moran-Hernandez of Clarksburg.
The crash happened around 1:27 a.m. at the intersection of Woodfield Road and Glendalough Road. Police say Moran-Hernandez was driving a Ford F-150 pickup northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, his truck struck a southbound Jeep Grand Cherokee.
After the collision, the truck went off the road, hit an embankment, rolled over, and collided with a guardrail. Moran-Hernandez was partially ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The adult female driver of the Jeep was transported to a local hospital in critical but stable condition.
Montgomery County Police say the investigation is ongoing and could take several weeks to months. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
