Hagerstown, Md. (DG) – A wanted man is in custody after a lengthy police pursuit in Hagerstown Tuesday afternoon.
Just before 2 p.m. on March 17th, Hagerstown Police received a tip about a wanted suspect spotted on Frederick Street driving a Kia Sportage. Officers identified the driver as 44-year-old Mark Taulton of Hagerstown, who was wanted on multiple active warrants out of Washington County, Frederick City, and Pennsylvania.
When officers attempted a traffic stop, Taulton fled, leading police on a pursuit that lasted about 20 minutes. During the chase, authorities say he committed numerous traffic violations and even struck a police vehicle.
The pursuit ended with Taulton taken into custody. He was transported to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Central Booking facility.
Taulton now faces a long list of charges across multiple jurisdictions, including second-degree assault, false imprisonment, strangulation, terroristic threats, theft, reckless driving, and additional traffic-related offenses.
