Martinsburg, WV (JK) – A Hagerstown, Maryland man has admitted to his role in a large-scale drug trafficking operation spanning parts of West Virginia and linked to an international cartel.
61-year-old David Reyes pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribute cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin.
According to court records, Reyes was a source of supply and played a leadership role in the organization, acting as both an organizer and decision-maker. Investigators say he also worked with individuals in Puerto Rico to support the operation.
Authorities say the drug trafficking network, led by Saul Alex Padilla-Garcia, operated out of an auto body shop in Martinsburg, West Virginia. The group allegedly imported large quantities of drugs from Puerto Rico through the U.S. Postal Service, as well as from a source connected to the Sinaloa Drug Cartel in Mexico.
The case involves a total of 18 defendants. So far, 12 have entered guilty pleas and 8 have been sentenced for their roles in the operation.
The Eastern Panhandle Drug Task Force served as the lead investigative agency in the case.
