Franklin County, PA. (DG) – A construction accident in Franklin County has claimed the life of a young worker.
Authorities say 20-year-old Dalen Martin of Smithsburg, Maryland, was killed when a trench collapsed at a job site in Hamilton Township on April 2nd. Emergency crews were called to Clover Drive around 2 p.m., where Martin was found trapped in the trench, which was about 50 feet long and 6 feet wide. Despite rescue efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Dozens of responders and heavy equipment were used in the attempt.
Pennsylvania State Police say the death has been ruled accidental and the investigation is now closed.
