You download an app, tap “allow,” and move on. It feels routine. But according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, that simple step may open the door to far more data collection than most people realize.
In a recent alert from the Internet Crime Complaint Center, officials warned that many popular apps used in the U.S. are developed by foreign companies, especially those based in China. On iPhone, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage, tap any app you do not need, then tap Delete App and confirm by tapping Delete. You can also press and hold the app icon on your home screen, tap Remove App, then select Delete App.
