A Baltimore County man was arrested Wednesday following a months-long narcotics investigation into the alleged transportation and distribution of drugs in Carroll County. Authorities identified the suspect as Kevin Lamar Wright, of the 9000 block of Shoshone Way in Randallstown.
Wright was arrested around 2 p.m. September 16 in the Westminster area by the Carroll County Crisis Response Team. Investigators say he was found with approximately 16.6 grams of suspected crack cocaine.
With assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration, detectives also executed a search warrant at a Baltimore County residence connected to the investigation. They recovered approximately 327.2 grams of suspected crack cocaine, a digital scale and a 9mm handgun, according to authorities.
Wright faces charges including possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, cocaine possession and narcotics distribution. Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues. He is currently being held at the Carroll County Detention Center pending a bail review.
The investigation involved the Carroll County State’s Attorney’s Office, DEA, PACE, and the Carroll County Drug and Firearms Trafficking Task Force, which includes the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Westminster Police Department, Taneytown Police Department and Maryland State Police.
