Welcome to the Sunday edition of Screencaps. I’m off to a fantastic start this morning. I didn’t realize that I already had some coffee from yesterday still in the pot and filled up the coffee maker above its capacity this morning.
Luckily, I heard what was going on as it took place and was able to turn it off before any of the spillage hit the floor. But, as you can imagine, it wasn’t how I wanted to start the day. But it fits in perfectly with how this weekend is going.
CRAZIEST UPSET OF THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON HAPPENED ON FRIDAY NIGHT WHILE EVERYONE WAS ASLEEP
Penn State’s season officially came to an end on Friday night with their second straight loss. This one was a blowout at the hands of Northwestern.
I said after last week’s loss, but I’ll say it again. I thought James Franklin was gone. The only thing that sort of went my way this weekend was Michigan losing again too. Their season is also over.
Nobody wants to talk about a couple of unranked losers. Let’s see how the No. 8 Florida Gators handled jumping all the way into the Top 10 after last weekend’s big win. They got destroyed on the road by No. 25 Missouri.
You really hate to see that. Now back to my misery.
The Yankees were almost no-hit in a one-run game where they made the Rays starting pitcher look like the best pitcher who has ever lived.
They do that at least one game every postseason. Hopefully, they’re one and done in that department this year.
The Yankees are expected to have the current best pitcher in Major League Baseball, Cam Schlittler, take the mound on Monday. The bats better show up.
Those who have been locked in on sports and pop culture know all about Kinsey Wolanski. She made a name for herself running onto the field during the 2019 Champions League final in a skimpy swimsuit.
She’s since become an influencer, sports content creator and host. She’s also worked with the Las Vegas Raiders.
This weekend, she took the mound for the Professional Cosmic Baseball team Glow Mojis for an “un-ceremonial first pitch.” Kinsey did a backflip then fired a strike from the rubber.
She gave up a hit, but the pitch was in the zone and far more impressive than her backflip. I can’t do one, but she came close to completely botching the landing. The pitch, while it became a base hit, saved the performance.

What a scene. You can’t go wrong with ribeye tacos or taking a meal outside on the patio or porch in the fall.
THE ULTIMATE COLLEGE FOOTBALL TAILGATE PLAYLIST WITH 10 SONGS TO GET FIRED UP FOR THE SEASON

Hey SeanJo,
So to answer your question, I did about 5 months of training for my half iron. I hadn’t planned on racing one this year, and usually I’m already 2-3 months into general triathlon training when I start 70.3 training. Enough friends twisted my rubber arm to sign up in April and I dove in, coming off 7-8 months of mostly marathon training and general running. At the peak, I was hitting 100+ mile weeks (mostly 2-3 bike rides a week). Whew!
One thing that was really cool was the amount of younger triathletes racing. 20s and 30s lined up and crushed their races. I think it’s great and really shows that it’s not always people in their 40s and 50s. We all pushed each other, especially that last 5K of the 13.1 mile run. The next generation of triathletes are already training and racing!

That’s impressive. Are you planning to get back out there next year? And how much time do you typcially take off between them? Not that I’m planning to get into it. You’re never going to find me out there. I push myself in other ways, but miles upon miles of running or biking a week isn’t one of them.

That’s how you tailgate like a pro. You grab a ton of meat, then you grab some more. My only question is how many tables are getting destroyed?

That’s it for Sunday. I have hours of football to watch as I prepare myself physically and mentally for the Panthers in primetime on “Sunday Night Football.”
The Lions like to give up points, so I’m optimistic that the offense is going to be able to score tonight. Can the defense get a stop when they need one? We’ll see. As I said on Friday, they have to go get and not get got.
