INTRO: President Trump speaking to reporters about the ongoing war with Iran Friday before departing the White House for his planned rally in Florida. The president once again claims the U-S is more than capable of ending the conflict “very quickly,” adding the only question left is if the U-S wants to do so. He also insists the U-S remains in firm control of the Strait of Hormuz.
ACK: President Trump
TAG: This comes as Iran claims seven oil tankers have been attacked in the Strait over the past day, and they’re threatening to strike U-S bases in the region if they continue allowing ships through the waterway. The war continues to drive up global energy prices, with the cost of diesel contributing to higher inflation in the U-S.
