INTRO: President Trump welcoming to the White House Stephen Hubbard. The 74-year-old retired Michigan school teacher – who also served in the U-S Air Force and National Guard – was recently freed from a Russian prison after four years, having been detained by Russia two months after the Ukraine war started. President Trump was asked by a reporter if he has a plan to get other American detainees out of Russia.
ACK: President Trump
TAG: In October 20-24 Hubbard was convicted of being a mercenary for the Ukrainian military and sentenced to more than 6 years in prison. In 20-25 the United States designated Hubbard as wrongfully detained. President Trump claims the U-S gave nothing to Russia in exchange for Hubbard’s release.
