INTRO: Ohio voters heading to the polls amid a heated race for governor in the Buckeye State. Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton spoke to reporters after voting in Columbus, stating that voters are looking for problem solvers.
ACK: Ohio Gubernatorial Candidate Amy Acton
TAG: The race received national attention last month after Acton’s opponent, Republican Vivek Ramaswamy (ram-uh-SWA’-mee), released an ad featuring Acton’s estranged mother attacking her character. The ad triggered major bipartisan backlash, with Acton noting she was removed from her mother’s custody after suffering sexual abuse as a child in that household. Ramaswamy initially defended the ad, as did President Trump and Vice President J-D Vance … but Ramaswamy’s campaign eventually pulled the ad down.
