National STEAM Day is a chance to show how kids can explore science, technology, engineering, art and math through play. Shop the toys from the Shopping With Friends segment below.
Stickerbox: $130
With Stickerbox, kids can turn anything they can dream up into a sticker. Just press the white button and say a phrase, and the button prints a black-and-white sticker of whatever your child imagined, like a gorilla riding a skateboard or a jellyfish eating a hamburger. The kid-safe AI blocks inappropriate words and phrases, and the box only listens when the button is pressed. Kids ages 5 and up can then color in their creations with the included colored pencils and stick them anywhere they please.
National Geographic Wall Crawler Scorpion: $40
First, assemble this creepily cool scorpion using the 10 pieces and magnetic screwdriver. Then, using the remote control, watch it race around the room and up the walls. It even has glow-in-the-dark eyes for even more fun when the sun goes down. Kids ages 8 and up can practice their building skills while learning about the fascinating arachnid.
ChompSaw: $249
This kid-safe power tool cuts cardboard without a blade, keeping skin, clothes and hair out of harm’s way. It comes with a hole punch and scoring tool, and the brand’s learning hub offers project ideas and video tutorials for kids who need a little inspiration. For ongoing fun, add a subscription and kids get a new cardboard pattern each month to cut and build, including binoculars, masks, a slingshot and more.
Mrs. Bench x Mojis squishy trading mat: $30
Turn playtime into a trading game with this interactive squishy mat. Kids can practice counting, addition and subtraction while negotiating trades with family and friends using squishies they already own. Add-on options include dumplings, Marvel characters, gummy bears and more, while a mystery squishy gives them a surprise to start the game.
