Two Seriously Injured In Vehicle Crash Near Point Of Rocks

Both were medivaced.US Rt 15 crash near Point of Rocks (Photos  from Frederick County Fire & Rescue Services)Point of Rocks, Md (KM) Two people were medivaced to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore  Wednesday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash in the Point of Rocks area.According to the Frederick Scanner Facebook page, police, fire and rescue were dispatched at around 1:52 PM to  southbound US Route 15 between Basford Road and Point of Rocks Road for an accident with entrapment. They found a vehicle on its side with one patient trapped and unconscious. Another patient was also  pinned in a vehicle. Two State Police Medivac helicopters were called to the scene while crews successfully extricated the two patents. Both were flown out.Route 15 in that area was closed to traffic for a time  while rescue operations were underway.Fire and rescue crews and apparatus began clearing the scene just before 3:00 PM.The Maryland State Police are investigating the crash.By Kevin McManus
