Frederick County Receives Federal Funding For Transportation Safety Projects

(BW)- The Frederick County Government has received over one million dollars in funds from the U.S. Department of Transportation through Maryland’s Safe Streets and Roads for All program.The goal of this program is to eliminate all fatalities and serious injuries on Maryland roadways by 2030.More than $28 million has been awarded to 17 counties and municipalities in the state, including the City of Brunswick, Howard County, Montgomery County, the City of Rockville, the City of Gaithersburg, the town of Sykesville and more.The money will be used for the planning and demonstration of roadway safety improvements in these areas.The money comes from the nation’s 2023 budget and is being carried out through the Maryland Department of Transportation.
