Frederick, Md. (DG) – A Frederick man is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation into child sexual abuse material.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says detectives were alerted after receiving a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about suspected illegal material on an online platform.
Investigators traced the account to 19-year-old Reyvon Macharia of Frederick. Authorities served a search warrant at a home in the 6900 block of Clover Hill Drive, where several electronic devices were seized.
Macharia was arrested and taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, where he’s now charged with eight counts of possession of child pornography. The investigation is continuing.
