Frederick, Md. (DG) – Two men from Michigan are facing serious charges after a traffic stop in Frederick County turned into a drug and weapons arrest. The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy stopped a Honda Pilot around 4 p.m. February 15th on Interstate 70 near Harmony Road for not displaying a registration plate.
After making contact with the driver and four passengers, deputies searched the vehicle and found a loaded handgun along with ecstasy hidden inside a beverage container. Investigators later learned the gun had been reported stolen out of Michigan.
Twenty-one-year-old Jonah Cahill of Kalamazoo was charged with illegal firearm possession due to a prior felony conviction and other weapons offenses. Forty-year-old Aaron Yarbrough also faces charges for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and additional violations.
