Frederick, Md. (DG) – A Frederick man is behind bars following an investigation into the sexual solicitation of a minor.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says deputies began investigating after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The tip involved an adult male allegedly communicating with and sexually soliciting a 13-year-old child.
Detectives identified the suspect as 37-year-old Steven Danko of Frederick. On February 18th, investigators executed a search warrant at his home in the 5000 block of Merganser Court, seizing numerous electronic devices as evidence.
Danko was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and charged with nine counts of sexual solicitation of a minor.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with additional information to contact law enforcement.
