Taneytown, MD (JK) – A Taneytown man is facing charges after a late-night break-in at the Sunoco gas station on East Baltimore Street.
Police responded to a burglary alarm around 11:50 p.m. on February 8 and found the store’s front door shattered. Surveillance video showed a man breaking the glass, entering the store, and taking an envelope containing $277 in cash along with a package of cigarettes before fleeing on foot.
After reviewing video evidence, gathering witness information, and executing a search warrant at a related residence, officers obtained an arrest warrant for Robert Andrew Bloom of Taneytown.
Bloom was taken into custody February 16 without incident and transported to the Carroll County Detention Center. He is charged with second- and fourth-degree burglary, theft between $100 and $1,500, and malicious destruction of property under $1,000.
