Frederick, Md. (DG) – A fire turned deadly Monday afternoon in Mount Airy.
According to the Frederick Scanner Facebook page, fire fighters were dispatched to the 13,900 block of Foggy Bottom Road shortly after 1:30 PM. Crews arriving on the scene saw flames shooting from the roof. Once inside, they found a large hole on the first floor of the home with the fire starting in the basement.
While fire fighters were battling the blaze, they were searching for one resident that was unaccounted for. Fire crews eventually located one person who was deceased in the home.
The investigation into what caused the fire is continuing.
