Potomac River Flow Increases Following Recent Rains

The Point of Rock reporting station reports increase.Rockville, Md (KM) There’s some good news regarding the drought conditions in the region. The Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin says the region has received almost two inches of rain over the past seven days. River flow at the Point of Rocks and Little Falls reporting stations increased “to the median values” before beginning to recede. including to the ICPRB.With this increased river flow, the Commission says it will shift to a more low key drought monitoring which includes one daily report to downstream water suppliers.No rain is expected for the next seven days.Many areas are still experiencing drought conditions. The City of Frederick has asked residents, businesses and visitors to conserve water by ten percent.By Kevin McManus
