Rockingham, VA (JK) – A Rockingham County jury has found 41‑year‑old Justin Craig Anthony of Williamsport, Maryland guilty on two counts of online solicitation of a person he believed to be a minor, following an undercover investigation by Virginia law enforcement.
The convictions stem from a proactive operation conducted in March 2024 by the Northern Virginia Metro D.C. Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Investigators say Anthony communicated with an undercover Virginia State Police special agent posing as a 13‑year‑old girl and proposed that the undercover persona expose herself and engage in sexual acts, violating state code on the use of communication systems to facilitate offenses involving children.
Anthony was arrested on May 21, 2024. At the time of those offenses, he was on supervised probation in Maryland as a convicted Tier 1 sex offender for prior child pornography convictions in 2018.
The Rockingham County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case, and Anthony’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 22, 2026.
