Winchester, Va. (DG) – A six-year prison term has been handed down to a former firefighter from the Winchester area in a case involving the production and sharing of an explicit video with a minor.
34-year-old Shawn DeBlasio was sentenced Friday in Winchester Circuit Court to 40 years in prison, with the majority of that time suspended. He previously admitted guilt to two felony charges connected to producing and reproducing child pornography involving a victim over the age of 15.
Court records show the charges stem from a video recorded in September 2023 a day before the victim’s 18th birthday. Authorities say DeBlasio later distributed that video to a coworker between March and July 2025.
DeBlasio had been employed as a professional firefighter in Clarke and Warren counties and also volunteered with Gainesboro Fire and Rescue in Frederick County, Virginia. He remains in custody at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center outside Winchester.
