Emmitsburg, Md. (DG) – The contributions of thousands of religious sisters will take center stage in a new exhibit coming to the National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg.
Titled “Do the Good: The Sisters Who Shaped America,” the exhibit explores more than two centuries of history through the stories of women whose work helped shape key parts of American society. Through historical artifacts and storytelling, it highlights sisters who provided care on Civil War battlefields, responded to the 1918 flu pandemic, and played a major role in building institutions like schools, hospitals and social service organizations nationwide.
The exhibit opens next week, with free admission available daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through spring 2027.
