Frederick, Md. (DG) – Frederick County authorities are investigating a series of vehicle break-ins that left multiple drivers without airbags. On Tuesday, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office reported 11 incidents in which airbags were stolen from Hondas parked in several communities. Most of the reports came from the Villages of Urbana, with additional cases in the Spring Ridge development and one in New Market.
Officials say airbags are often targeted because they can be quickly removed and resold on the black market, making them valuable to thieves. Investigators are asking anyone in the affected areas who may have Ring camera footage or other video to come forward. Authorities are also reminding residents to stay alert, park in well-lit areas when possible, and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
