Frederick, Md. (DG) – The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office reports its SWAT Team has completed advanced tactical training aimed at strengthening its response capabilities. The training took place at the Osprey Global Solutions Training Facility in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Eight SWAT operators and the team leader participated in the intensive program, which focused on realistic, scenario-based exercises. The training was designed to improve both tactical skills and decision-making in high-pressure situations.
Sheriff Chuck Jenkins says the goal of sending the team was to ensure members receive the highest level of advanced training available. He says it is critical for SWAT operators to be prepared for high-risk warrants, barricade incidents, and encounters with armed and violent individuals.
Jenkins adds the training helps ensure the team is ready for unexpected challenges and critical incidents, allowing them to continue protecting the public at the highest level.
