If you’ve ever driven through Frederick County with your radio tuned to 930 AM, you already know the voice. The laugh. The stories. The legend. We’re talkin’ about the one and only Bob Miller — WFMD’s Morning Mayor and your favorite reason to wake up on a weekday!

Bob’s been the king of morning talk in Frederick for over 30 years, and he’s been holding down the WFMD fort for more than 27. A proud Frederick County native, Bob’s roots run deep — he’s the son of the legendary local vet, Doc Miller, and he grew up wrangling cattle on a 180-acre beef farm. (Yep, you read that right — your radio host used to show cows across the country. Moo!)

Bob’s resume? Impressive. His sense of humor? Even better.
He was senior class president AND class clown at Walkersville High — Class of 1980. (Still debating which title was more accurate…) And he was a founding member of the school’s very first football team, known as the gritty “Mean 19.”

He’s also a proud husband to Lynda (30+ years and counting!), a dad to two awesome kids (Erin and Bryan), and now a super-proud granddad to little Kaelyn. 🍼💕

Bob’s known he wanted to be on the radio since forever, and he’s made waves at some of the top stations in Baltimore and D.C. But we’re lucky he’s chosen to bring his voice, charm, and community passion to Free Talk 930 WFMD every weekday morning.

These days, he’s teamed up with the talented Chris Michaels — and together they deliver news, info, stimulating talk, and just the right dose of fun to kickstart your day.

As Bob’s mom says: “At least now I can finally turn him off.”

Every radio legend needs a sidekick — and Bob Miller ended up with Chris Michaels. Whether he’s hitting buttons, hitting nerves, or hitting listeners with random trivia, Chris brings the perfect mix of passion, personality, and punctuation problems to the morning airwaves.

Originally from Yonkers, NY, Chris began his radio journey at WRGG 93.7 in Greencastle, PA. He moved closer to Frederick with a long run at WTHU in Northern Frederick County, climbing from afternoon host to music director, and eventually, program director. Now, he’s landed where he belongs — in beautiful Frederick, MD, stirring things up on Free Talk 930 WFMD as Bob’s right-hand man (and occasional thorn in his side).

And here’s the kicker…
Chris is now the Program Director of 930 WFMD.
So if you’ve got feedback, suggestions, or complaints? Yep — they go straight to him. 😅

When he’s off the mic, Chris is usually watching one of his long-suffering New York teams — the Mets, Jets, Islanders, or Nets — or wrangling his own personal petting zoo. We’re talking cats, a dog, hamsters, mice, and an ever-growing collection of frogs.

He’s a proud husband and girl dad to two amazing daughters, and he’s been chasing this radio dream since he was a kid playing DJ with his dad’s record player.
