Frederick, Md. (DG) – Two people are dead and two others injured following a high-speed crash early Thursday in Frederick, and authorities have now released the victims’ identities.
According to the Frederick Police Department, officers responded around 12:53 a.m. on April 9, 2026, to the area of South East Street and the roundabout at the request of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office for a serious crash involving injuries.
Investigators say the crash happened after a Frederick County Sheriff’s deputy attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a very high rate of speed. The vehicle continued through the city before crashing near the South East Street roundabout.
Police say 20-year-old Donte Jerron Dejesus Jr. of Hanover, Maryland, and 19-year-old Amori Elona Terrell of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, died from their injuries. Authorities confirm that next of kin notifications have been completed.
A third person remains in critical condition, while a fourth individual was taken to a hospital and was last reported in stable condition.
The Frederick Police Department is leading the crash reconstruction investigation, which remains active and ongoing. Officials say no additional details are being released at this time, and questions about the events leading up to the crash are being referred to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.
