Westminster, Md. (DG) – A months-long investigation in Carroll County has led to the arrest of a Taneytown man on serious drug charges.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says 44-year-old Cody Hess was identified as an alleged transporter and distributor of illicit narcotics in the area. Around 1:00 a.m. on March 27th, Hess was located on foot near Route 194 and Westview Road and taken into custody. Deputies say he was found carrying about 8 grams each of suspected crack cocaine and fentanyl.
A search of his home later uncovered a digital scale, multiple cell phones, and a magnetic box, all believed to be tied to drug distribution. Hess is now charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine, along with possession of drug paraphernalia, and is being held without bond at the Carroll County Detention Center.
