Potomac, Md. (DG) – A tragic death investigation is underway in Montgomery County after a young child was found unresponsive Saturday evening.
Police say officers and fire rescue crews were called to the 10900 block of Burbank Drive around 5:30 p.m. for a reported possible drowning. When they arrived, they located a 3-year-old girl. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Authorities say the child will be taken to the medical examiner’s office in Baltimore to determine the exact cause and manner of death. The investigation remains active, but at this time, police say no foul play is suspected.
