Columbia, Md. (DG) – Police in Howard County are investigating a shooting that left a gas station employee seriously injured.
Officers were called around 7:45 p.m. Friday to a Shell station in the 7200 block of Cradlerock Way. Authorities say an adult male employee was shot and taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Detectives believe a single suspect opened fire during an attempted robbery and then fled the scene. No one else was hurt. Police say the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
