Gaithersburg, MD (JK) – Special Victims Division Detectives with the Montgomery County Police are continuing to investigate a video recorded inside a changing room during a play at Walter Johnson High School.
According to investigators, the recording was made in 2018 by school employee James Mulhern, III and shows four individuals in various stages of undress. Authorities say no nudity was found in the video. Detectives have identified and contacted all four individuals involved.
As part of the investigation, officers have seized more than 100 computers, cell phones, tablets, and other electronic devices from both the school and Mulhern’s residence. Those items are now undergoing forensic analysis as detectives work to determine whether any additional crimes may have occurred.
Police describe the case as active and ongoing, noting that the review of digital evidence will take time. If additional victims are identified, investigators say they will be notified directly.
Authorities say more information will be released once the investigation is complete. Anyone with information that could assist detectives is asked to contact the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400.
