Frederick, Md. (DG) – A Woodsboro man will spend decades behind bars after admitting to multiple drug-related offenses and child neglect in Frederick County.
In Circuit Court on Monday, 38-year-old William Joseph Jones, Jr. was sentenced to 60 years in prison, with all but 35 years suspended. He pleaded guilty to charges including possession of a large amount of drugs, distribution of fentanyl, and neglect of a minor.
The case stems from a March 28, 2024 search warrant executed by Frederick Police at a home along Creagerstown Road in Woodsboro. Investigators say Jones was operating a drug trafficking operation out of the residence.
During the search, detectives recovered more than 180 grams of fentanyl and a fentanyl mixture. Authorities say the drugs were found in a room that had been converted for preparing, storing, and packaging controlled substances.
Police also discovered Jones’ two young children, both under the age of seven, living in the home just steps away from the dangerous drugs.
