Leesburg, VA (JK) – A Leesburg man is facing a driving under the influence charge following a deadly crash over the weekend that claimed the life of a passenger.
Virginia State Police say 43-year-old Adrian Gibson was driving a Buick on Clubhouse Drive on Saturday evening, May 16, when the vehicle left the roadway, entered a warehouse construction site, and flipped over around 6:48 p.m.
Officials say 41-year-old Alana Jones of Leesburg was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and died at the scene.
Gibson was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. Following the investigation, he has been charged with DUI.
State Police say additional charges may be filed after consultation with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office as the investigation continues.
