A Washington County grand jury has indicted a former school bus attendant accused of inappropriately touching special needs students.
71-year-old Michael Sowers faces charges involving four minor victims after an investigation by Hagerstown Police and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Sowers was previously charged in connection with allegations involving several children with disabilities on a school bus in April and May. Officials say he is no longer employed by Washington County Public Schools, where he had worked as a substitute bus attendant since March 2022.
Investigators continue to examine the case and are looking into a possible fifth victim. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
