Hagerstown , MD (JK) – A Hagerstown man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he threatened several juveniles while armed with a shotgun.
Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 11300 block of Dogwood Drive on Wednesday, June 3, at approximately 4:52 p.m. after receiving reports of a man threatening neighbors with a shotgun.
According to investigators, witnesses reported that 48-year-old James Daniel Marker was yelling at juveniles in the area and threatening to kill them while holding the firearm.
When deputies attempted to contact Marker, he allegedly refused to leave his residence or comply with commands from law enforcement.
Due to the seriousness of the situation, the Washington County Special Response Team was called to the scene. Marker was taken into custody without reported injuries to anyone involved.
Marker was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he remains held.
He has been charged with three counts of first-degree assault, three counts of second-degree assault, and three counts of reckless endangerment.
